EnerNOC Awarded New Mexico Response Contract

Boston, MA –EnerNOC, Inc., a leading developer and provider of clean and intelligent power solutions, announced today that it has entered into a ten year Negawatt Network™ agreement with the Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM). EnerNOC now has two Negawatt Networks in the Western United States; the company announced a contract with Pacific Gas and Electric earlier this month.
EnerNOC will deploy the New Mexico Negawatt Network in PNM’s service territory, including the Albuquerque and Santa Fe metro areas, by aggregating demand response capacity at commercial, institutional, and industrial customer sites. When PNM signals a system need, EnerNOC will remotely curtail participating customers’ electricity consumption and provide demand response capacity to the grid within ten minutes. EnerNOC’s award-winning 24/7 Network Operations Center will monitor and control Negawatt Network activity in order to provide PNM with an immediate and verifiable resource to balance supply and demand and enhance system reliability.
The Negawatt Network will help PNM support the New Mexico Efficient Use of Energy Act. The agreement is subject to approval by the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission.
