GlobalLogic acquires Rofous
Software R&D services company GlobalLogic Inc. said Tuesday it has acquired Rofous, a product and content engineering company, to expand its footprint in India.
Financial details were not disclosed, but GlobalLogic said it is the company’s largest acquisition to date. It specializes in outsourced software product development.
GlobalLogic’s headquarters are in McLean, Va., and it is backed by Goldman Sachs, Draper/New Atlantic Ventures, and Menlo Park-based Sequoia Capital and New Enterprise Associates.
GlobalLogic has a sales office in San Jose, where the company’s president Shashank Samant is based.
Rofous has offices in Milpitas, Redmond, Wash., and Hyderabad, India. Rofous’ client base includes LinkedIn Corp. and Stryker Corp.
“(Rofous’) content engineering expertise will broaden our own R&D service offerings — especially with clients in the e-commerce and information services sectors,” said GlobalLogic CEO Peter Harrison in a news release.
The acquisition is expected to take GlobalLogic’s global work force from about 4,000 employees to more than 5,500.
