Pontiflex Cements Its Leadership in Burgeoning NYC Tech Scene with Stellar Performance in First Half 2010
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – (Business Wire) One of New York City’s fastest-growing technology companies, Pontiflex Inc., connecting marketers with the right people to make advertising relevant, today announced that it has completed a successful first half of 2010 on several fronts. Key accomplishments include impressive revenue growth; more than 100 new brands running 155 new campaigns on the Pontiflex platform; increased headcount; and an innovative product roadmap designed to bring brand dollars to performance marketing.
Pontiflex’s leading e-mail and social acquisition platform lets consumers sign up for ads on Web sites, social media apps and blogs and get deals and information from the brands and organizations that matter to them most. The 100 percent, opt-in ad formats protect consumers’ online privacy while providing marketers with clean, relevant data about the people most likely to purchase their products or support their causes. Advertisers only pay for the sign ups – the actual data from people who have chosen to hear from them.
The Pontiflex system has been quick to take off since launching in 2008. Revenue numbers for the first half of 2010 are up 200 percent from the same period last year, and nearly 150 percent from the second half of 2009. Driving this growth is the increased use of social media by consumers and the ability for marketers to acquire the right user data and engage with relevant consumers through a variety of touch points such as Facebook, micro-sites, blogs, e-mail marketing, etc. More than 21 million people are expected to sign up in 2010 to hear from an advertiser through the Pontiflex platform – that’s roughly 10 percent of the US online population.
“The enormous popularity of social networking sites has caused the online advertising industry to shift away from an impression-based pricing model to one that’s data driven, based on user data acquisition and long-term engagement,” said Zephrin Lasker, CEO of Pontiflex. “Major brands and publishers are flocking to Pontiflex to collect and monetize their user data by leveraging the fastest, most cost-effective and scalable method to actively engage with the audiences that are most likely to purchase their products or services. The integrity, relevance and leadership we bring to the world of online advertising sets Pontiflex apart and will continue to yield high returns for the company quarter after quarter.”
1H10 business highlights include:
New Brands and Publishers: The transparency and targeted approach used by Pontiflex has been shown to outperform even organic e-mail marketing efforts, helping attract major brands and national nonprofits like Heinz, WebMD, BabyCenter, Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, and the ASPCA to run 155 new campaigns on the Pontiflex platform in the first half of 2010. The total number of new publishers is also on the rise, up 35 percent from last year, bringing the total number of participants in the Pontiflex marketplace to nearly 1,000.
Product Innovation: To address time sensitivities between when someone signed up and when they actually received communication from the brand, Pontiflex introduced auto-responder technology in 2010. The new feature allows brands to communicate with people in real-time, by sending e-mails automatically to users as soon as they sign up – helping boost engagement metrics and increase overall campaign performance.
Increased Headcount: To support the accelerated growth of the company, Pontiflex has increased its headcount by 50 percent in 2010 across its offices in New York, Boston, Seattle and Bangalore.
Trends for 2H10 and Beyond: With ongoing privacy concerns, opt-in engagement models like Pontiflex will see increased adoption. The shift from buying impressions to acquiring user data in a 100 percent opt-in way will accelerate. With media consumption fragmented across devices (laptops, iPads, tablets, smartphones), Pontiflex anticipates new advertising technologies that allow advertisers to plan, buy and optimize all media using one platform.
