Qliance partners with Expedia to build new Bellevue health clinic
Seattle-based Qliance Medical Management Inc. is opening a new clinic at Expedia.com headquarters in Bellevue.
The deal will allow the more than 2,000 employees of the online travel company working locally to receive care at Qliance, a direct primary care provider. Expedia negotiated customized pricing with Qliance.
The public will also have access to the clinic when it opens in January.
Under Qliance’s model, consumers pay a set monthly fee for all primary care and buy high-deductible health insurance to protect them from the cost of severe illnesses or accidents. The company charges a flat monthly price ranging from $54 to $89 for people not insured through a company plan.
Qliance claims its system can save businesses as much as 30 percent in health-care costs.
“The opening of this new onsite clinic is another step in our ongoing initiative to make personal health and well-being a major focus for our workforce,” Connie Symes, Expedia’s executive vice president of human resources, said in a statement.
Qliance has five clinics across the Puget Sound region, in downtown Seattle, Tacoma, Kent, Mercer Island and an affiliate clinic in Mill Creek.
The new clinic will have two full-time doctors and a support staff of at least five people. It will be open six days a week.
